Insistence, Persistence, or Resilience?! Part 2

Yes, Resilience!

Indeed, I also thought that story would end there, with the last letters of the last post—but no! 😥

I spent the afternoon at that beautiful rooftop bar, where I already felt very comfortable, enjoying a Caipirinha made from the lime I had received on that fateful and unusual day—or more precisely, savoring my Aperol Spritz, one of my favorite drinks.

I also like a Caipirinha, but in Switzerland, it’s not recommended to order one at a bar—let’s say they’re not very skilled at handling limes, and in that, modesty aside, we Brazilians have a lot of experience, literally! 😅

As we often say, “Every cloud has a silver lining.” I spent the afternoon in a cozy and beautiful environment, the temperature was very pleasant, I was well served, enjoying my drink—but what I loved most was finally getting back to writing.

I was very excited about my new website, and for the first time, a blog. I had never been interested in any other way of writing besides with pen and paper… I was the “crazy” one with notebooks, planners, Post-its… anything “old school” that helped me express my ideas, emotions, and thoughts. I constantly said, “You have to put it on paper!” But modernizing can be good—I think that now.

The waiting time at the rooftop bar became increasingly pleasant with every sentence I wrote.

I picked up my phone, opened the Wix app, where my homepage is hosted, and began exploring a bit, curious to see how “that” worked.

Some of you might be thinking that I, who am writing to you, must be very old or clueless about technology. Well… I’m not that old, but I admit I don’t know everything. I’m curious and a lifelong learner. After all, I didn’t create the website myself, so I was a bit hesitant to make a mistake.

Blog, start blog, choose cover photo, keyboard ready—and the first words flowed, cautiously at first, thinking carefully until the magic happened.

Normally, I choose a quiet, pleasant place that inspires me. The light has to be right, a thermos of water to keep it cold the way I like, sometimes a glass of wine or a cup of tea, depending on my mood—or sometimes even depending on the temperature, according to the season!

Choosing which notebook or planner to use for a specific topic also required practically scheduling that time with myself—otherwise, there was no time to do it. Only after all this would I start writing. This is how my thoughts and my first book emerged, fruits of all these rituals described above.

Since the release of my first book, although I love being the entrepreneur and seller of it, what troubled me most was the lack of time to write.

Yes, since becoming an author, I have less time because I didn’t become rich from writing it. So, like anyone else, I work for my living!

The book is my purpose, my life project—and why not, also a hobby… but working for a living and being an entrepreneur kept me so busy that I hardly had time to write, let alone perform all the “rituals” for writing.

With every word I wrote, it flowed more easily… the magic I mentioned is that when I write, it’s like I go into a trance. The words just come, faster and faster, the thoughts flow, and I barely stop to think about what I want to write. Only the title is set beforehand—after that, I just write.

Until yesterday, I held a belief that limited me: “I only have inspiration to write with pen and paper!” That’s what I used to say.

And now there I was, phone in hand, on my blog. This time, instead of writing with pen, I was typing. I admit, I didn’t type like the younger generation, with both thumbs simultaneously. No—I held the phone firmly in one hand and typed with my right thumb. For someone unaccustomed, I typed surprisingly fast, and the ideas and words flowed. I wrote and typed!

That’s how I wrote my previous post—and now I’ve really taken a liking to it!

Before, using the excuse of not having the right ritual, the right drink, or the right time, I would end up not writing. Now, with my phone, I will write wherever I am and whenever I want, with or without a drink, rain or shine, on the train, plane, or in the car, going to or coming from work—it doesn’t matter. I just need to want it and have inspiration, and that I don’t lack (and of course, my phone needs battery…).

How many barriers did I overcome while making that Caipirinha!

But now, you all will have to put up with me—I’m really going to write 😅 I have always loved it, and it’s very therapeutic! How many things I was able to analyze from the recent events I experienced after writing them down!

Warm regards.
